| Aims of the Indian Orthopaedic
Society (UK)
· To
promote the interests of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Indian origin,
currently in training or practicing in the UK, as well as those who,
at any time, have been trained in the UK but are settled in India or
other countries.
· To
liaise between the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) and British
Orthopaedic Association (BOA).
· To
promote sharing of knowledge and culture between Indian and British
Orthopaedic Surgeons in India and UK by arranging educational
meetings, courses and travelling fellowships
· To
organise various meetings, courses and social events at local and
national levels for Indian Orthopaedic Surgeons and to act as a
forum for informal discussion amongst members on issues of mutual
interest.
· To
establish and run the Indo British exchange travelling
fellowships for trainees and established surgeons.
· To
establish BOA recognised sub-speciality training long-term
fellowships in Indian Centres of Excellence for British trainees.
· To
support the IOA in its endeavour to modernise Orthopaedic Training
in India
· To
sponsor and mentor Indian orthopaedic surgeons for further training
in the UK (sponsorship scheme by consultants).
