The Fellowships are of two weeks
duration.
Junior Fellowship is in June, including
participation in the Annual IOS UK conference (Glasgow).
The Senior Fellowship is in September, which includes
participation in the Annual British Orthopaedic
Association Congress (Manchester). The Fellows are
expected to submit research papers/abstracts to the
scientific committee. The selected abstracts for podium
presentation are considered for publication in the
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery supplement

THE
IOS UK INDO-BRITISH TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP 2010
We had a successful programme this year. The 2-week junior
fellowship programme was in June, which included their
participation in the Annual Conference at Kent. This programme
was supported by BIOMET through an educational grant.

TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2010
Inder Gill from
Newcastle and Neil Kang from London were the first British
trainees to visit centres in India. Inder Gill did his
training at Ganga Hospital, Comboitore under the able
supervision of Professor Rajasekaran while Neil Kang went to
Mumbai and received training under Dr Sanjay Desai. Both have
spoken volumes of their time spent in India.

IOS UK INDO-BRITISH TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP 2009
We had a very successful programme of 2 tours, once again this
year. As last year, the 2-week junior programme took place in
June 2009, culminating in the fellows' participation in our
Llandudno Annual Conference. This programme was supported by
BIOMET through an educational grant. The following were the

IOS (UK), as a
part of its educational programme, has set up these annual Travel
Fellowships, open to established Orthopaedic Surgeons practicing in
India. This venture is generously supported by BIOMET.
Selection for the Fellowship:
The selection
of the candidates for the three fellowships on offer is based on
academic achievement, professional standing and the overall
contribution to Orthopaedics and Trauma.
